The Movie Channel can be found on Channel 16 on your television (played on-campus only & is not available to Mansfield and Northwood Apartments). We hope that you enjoy the channel. Thanks for watching!
How It Works
We order the movies from Swank Motion Picture Company and the orders have to be in 45 days in advance of their first playdate. We are contracted to get 30 movies/per month, which we rotate over a 4 week period. The movies get sent back after their last playdate and a new batch for the next month comes in. We play a combination of both Digital and VHS movies (it all depends on what is available from the company).
Movies are chosen based upon the following: Student requests and educational programming. Educational programming includes, but not limited to:
- Alcohol & Drug Issues
- AIDS Awareness
- Black History
- Eating Disorders
- Gender Issues
- Homelessness
- Residence Hall Educational Programming

In regards to the video & audio issues about the movie channel. We made some adjustments this morning to the audio so the volume should be better. Also, we will be updating the video software so this should improve the quality of the movies being played. PLEASE use the "send feedback" button on the left hand menu to let us know if it is better. Please provide your email address so we can email you back to follow-up. Without your feedback, we are not always aware of the problem! Thank you for your patience and assistance!

If you are interested in advertising an event; please submit a PowerPoint slide to moviechannel@uconn.edu using no less than 24 point font; 1 inch margin all around and do not use red for the font color. No profanity please.
A start/end date must accompany the PPT slide. All advertisements are subject to review prior to airing.
